Driving on illegal tyres risks a fine of up to £2,500 and 3 penalty points per tyre — so four bald tyres could mean losing your licence. Many tyre experts recommend changing at 3mm for wet-weather safety. We’ll measure yours and show you exactly where they stand.
A blowing exhaust, a sudden drop in power or a loud rasp usually means an exhaust problem. We check the full system — from manifold to tailpipe, including the catalytic converter and any DPF — and replace only the section that’s gone, not the whole lot, where that’s the right fix.
Tyres and exhausts are checked in your MOT too — if yours is due, we can do both together.

1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre and around its entire circumference. Below that it’s an MOT failure and illegal to drive on, risking a fine and penalty points for each tyre.
A puncture can often be safely repaired if it’s within the central area of the tread and the tyre isn’t otherwise damaged, following the British Standard. Sidewall damage or a worn tyre means replacement — we’ll inspect it and tell you honestly.
We’d generally advise against them. Part-worns have less tread to start with and their history is unknown. Budget new tyres are often better value over their life.
A louder exhaust usually means a leak or a corroded section, which can also let fumes in and fail your MOT. It’s best to get it looked at promptly — pop in for a free check.
